A random suggestion and leap of faith and now its Xundays Matcha: Melbourne's quirkiest matcha brand, with a lot of personality.
Sunny and Bryan have been drinking matcha since 2008, long before it caught its fame, and always wondered what it would be like to own a tea house, a craft store, a book shop and anything craft related to be honest
Sunny brings his passion for cafes and matcha to life. He started the journey on social media and now brings joy to home cafes across Australia and worldwide.
Fun fact: His journey as an artist started at 10, and it was "Hamtaro" (google it)
Bryan put aside his professional career because he believed enough. He's now a full time ceramicist, camera shy and is behind all the beautiful ceramics we sell. He also has a knack for tasting flavour notes and is usually behind all the recipes made at our pop-ups!
Fun fact: An avid believer in "Floor time" and spacing out.
Honestly, this wasn't in our books to start a matcha brand. I mean, Sunny loved matcha since he picked up Japanese and Bryan was always crafting, but to run a business around it? Call it a fever dream.
Inspired by Japanese stationery, ceramics, tea houses and paper, we wanted to bring the same passion and authenticity back to Melbourne. Beyond crazy cute packaging (some might say we are just aesthetics), matcha doesn't have to be overly serious, distant or quiet , we believe in the power of storytelling to build community, so every blend we share has it's own story to tell through chosen characters and designs.
